Having beat cancer (AML) a few years back with chemo and a bone marrow transplant, making a baby the ol’ fashion way ain’t in the cards. so we’ve ventured into the world of donor eggs and hope it’s all it’s cracked up to be.
May 2003: I was diagnosed with AML (Acute Myelogenous Leukemia) and find out the same day i will most likely become infertile due to treatment. yay!
October 2003: After 3 month-long rounds of inpatient chemo and a bone marrow transplant…. REMISSION!
Jan 2008: Coming up to my five year anniversary with cancer I move past denial and realize we need to start investigation science solutions to our fertility issues. Hello DE IVF!
April 2008: First cycle cancelled with donor goes AWOL
April – June 2008: 2nd, 3rd, 4th, cycles all a wash after far too many donor issues.
July 2008: We’ve got a winner, DE IVF#1 is scheduled
September 2008: Transferred 1 embryo at Day 5, BFP!
October 2008: Miscarriage at 6w5days
November 2008: New donor selected
December 2008: DE IVF#2 begins
Jan 2009: Day 5 transfer coming up this week!

I found your blog as I search the internet for a donor egg program and contemplate a shared risk /shared donor, 1:3 program.
